The 720p Optoma HD65 digital home theater projector is praised by critics for delivering a lot of bang for the buck. Little else in the Optoma HD65's price range can compete with it in terms of image quality. Blacks aren't the deepest, but the color display is great, allowing for adjustments for picky viewers. Limitations of its DLP technology, however, can make finding a suitable spot for the projector a challenge, and the HD65's slow color wheel ensures that those few people prone to DLP's rainbow effect will see it with this projector. If you have a larger budget, the Epson HD20 (*Est. $1,000) produces an even better picture with deeper blacks and the highest 1080p resolution.
