At $530, the Atlas Cavaliere-Euro SV218D30WM is quite inexpensive for a wall-mounted range hood. It also appears to offer quite a lot for the price in terms of style and features. Its stainless-steel body and gracefully curved glass canopy house a powerful blower capable of shifting 900 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of air. It also features six fan settings, two dimmable halogen lights, a delayed shutoff feature, a filter cleaning reminder and electronic touchpad controls. It's a little loud for a wall-mount model, producing 7 sones on the highest fan setting, but its lowest setting puts out a very soft 0.4 sones (1 sone is about as loud as a running refrigerator). Owners are generally enthusiastic about this range hood's appearance, performance and cost. The only complaints we found are that it throws more light on the backsplash than on the cooktop (which could be a plus if you have a decorative backsplash) and that it's quite heavy, requiring two people to install it. However, this model has not been included in any professional reviews, so we can't recommend it quite as solidly as the top-rated GE Profile JV936DSS (*Est. $820).
