Broan Economy 413001

The Broan Economy 413001 is a very basic recirculating (ductless) range hood for under-cabinet installation. Ductless range hoods draw in air and pass it through a charcoal filter to remove odors before returning it to the room. The filter cannot be cleaned and must be replaced regularly. This type of range hood cannot remove steam or heat from the air and is minimally effective for smoke removal, but it can be used when outside venting is impractical. As with most ductless-only range hoods, the Broan Economy 413001 range hood offers only the most basic features: two fan speeds and a single incandescent light fixture. It's available in a wide variety of widths (from 21 inches to 42 inches) and colors including white, almond, biscuit, black and stainless steel. However, if outside ventilation is an option in your kitchen, you will get better results with the Kenmore 5234 (*Est. $145), which also comes in a variety of widths and colors.
