The Electrolux EW30EF65GS electric smoothtop range is one of the top-rated ranges in two separate professional reviews, and the owner reviews we found are almost entirely positive. In one independent test, the Electrolux range gets very good or excellent marks for every cooking task -- baking, heating, broiling and simmering. This oven has numerous high-end features, including a warming drawer that also functions as a second small oven and can bake food at temperatures up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
The main oven has a convection feature and is self-cleaning. Preprogrammed settings like the Perfect Turkey mode simplify cooking, and three of the four burners can be adjusted to fit several pan sizes. This range also has a luxurious feel with its sleek stainless-steel finish and Luxury-Glide racks that slide easily on ball bearings. Users have only a couple of quibbles with this range: Some find the digital control panel confusing, and like any smoothtop range, it is vulnerable to scratches. If this model is out of your price range, the Samsung FE-R300SX (*Est. $700) offers excellent cooking performance for less, but it lacks some of the Electrolux's high-end features.
The Electrolux EW30EF65GS is included in a round of range tests at ConsumerReports.org, and it is also one of the top-rated electric ranges in Good Housekeeping magazine. We found about 35 user comments for this model on the Electrolux website, at retail site AJMadison.com and on the user-review site Buzzillions.com. We also consulted a 2011 survey by J.D. Power and Associates for information about the Electrolux brand as a whole.
