March 2009. Reviewers say the top-rated GE Profile PGB910SEMSS gas range produces perfect or near-perfect results in simmering, baking and broiling tests. GE is ranked among the top three brands for reliability in one major owner survey of gas range owners, and receives average to good ratings in all areas but price in the most recent report from J.D. Powers & Associates. Although expensive, the GE Profile range makes up for its price tag somewhat with an array of high-end features, such as a warming drawer, sleek stainless-steel design and central oval burner. If you're looking for a more basic gas range, consider the Hotpoint RGB745WEHWW (*est. $500), which gets very good performance scores but doesn't have many frills beyond the basics.

The GE Profile PGB910SEMSS is included in Consumer Reports' thorough test of ranges. We also found a few owner reviews for this model at HomeDepot.com and Buzzillions. GE Profile is included in the most recent J.D. Powers Kitchen Appliances customer satisfaction survey.
