The GE Profile PGB918DEMWW is a top-rated double-oven 30-inch gas range. The main oven is self-cleaning and capable of standard or convection (faster and more even) cooking. The second, smaller oven can warm or cook from 150 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. The cooktop has five sealed burners rather than the usual four, a continuous cast-iron grate that makes cleaning easier, and a nonstick griddle. The GE Profile PGB918DEMWW is available in white, bisque and black (stainless steel for about $250 more). If you don't need two ovens, the GE Profile JGBP85DEMWW (*est. $950) is a good choice among standard gas ranges. There is no convection option on that, and the second oven drawer is for warming, not cooking.

Consumer Reports magazine offers the only credible review of ranges we could find. Results of a J.D. Power and Associates survey show good general information on brand satisfaction, although there are no ratings of specific ranges. Popular Mechanics magazine touts GE Profile models in general despite no indication of testing. There are too few owner reviews at Sears.com and Epinions.com to be conclusive, but most indicate high satisfaction.
