March 2009. As far as dual-fuel ranges go, the Jenn-Air JDR8895BA is fairly inexpensive and packs in features that are usually reserved for ranges that cost twice as much. It has two ovens, both of which can bake and broil; the larger, lower oven also has a convection feature. Both ovens are self-cleaning, which is unusual (most double-oven ranges only have a self-cleaning large oven). Owners say that the smaller oven is more convenient to use because it's on top, and that it preheats rapidly due to its small size. One drawback is that this range, like many dual-fuel ranges, can be difficult to install. It requires a gas line for the cooking surface and a 240-volt outlet for the ovens, both of which must be located close to where the range will be placed. In one consumer survey, Jenn-Air dual fuel ranges are found to be repair-prone, but user reviews for the JDR8895BA are generally excellent. If you don't need a dual-fuel range but want high-end features, consider the electric Electrolux EW30EF65GS (*est. $2,400), which also has two ovens and gets top scores in two separate hands-on reviews.

We didn't find any professional tests for the Jenn-Air JDR8895BA, but there are plenty of owner reviews at Sears.com and Buzzillions. Consumer Guide also gives this range a Best Buy award, and Jenn-Air is included in the most recent J.D. Powers survey on customer satisfaction.
