  • Excellent self-cleaning cycle
  • Poor window visibility

Bottom line

The Kenmore Elite 95073 is an affordably priced range that offers all of the reliability of an induction range with some good standard convenience features as well. It features convection heating, a self-cleaning cycle and a warming drawer.

A top performer. The Kenmore Elite 95073 aces Good Housekeeping's stringent testing, outperforming even more expensive models at both stovetop and oven functions. Testers praise the range for distributing stovetop heat evenly and say the induction elements brought water to a boil rapidly. The convection oven also fares well in professional tests, where it did an exceptional job of baking multiple sheets of cookies and cakes -- even shaving time off the required cooking time. In addition to convection heating, the 95073 offers keep-warm, slow-cook and Sabbath modes.

Large space, poor view. The roomy 6.1-cubic-feet Kenmore Elite 95073 oven has seven rack positions and comes with three self-cleaning racks. Owners say it has the capacity to handle three cookie sheets at once. It also has an integrated warming drawer that keeps food hot and expands the available space. Reviewers say the viewing window doesn't provide an adequate view into the oven, however, so they have to open it to check on the food.

Convenient and easy to use features. The induction stovetop is the star feature of the Kenmore Elite 95073. Owners say they don't even mind that they have to replace most of their pots and pans to get the stovetop to work; it's that much more of an improvement over a traditional range. It has five heating zones with pan-size detection sensors to tailor energy output to fit various pots and pans. The oven features a hidden bake element and an excellent self-cleaning cycle, according to testers. Reviewers also say the electronic controls are easy to use and read.
