Best value razor
- Reasonably priced replacement cartridges
- Comfortable, good shave
- Doesn't shave as close as some competitors
- Slender, but flimsy design
Gillette Mach3 Turbo's three-bladed manual razor has been around for over 10 years and is still rated among the best of manual razors. Reviewers say the Mach3 provides a close, comfortable shave at a reasonable price for both razor and replacement cartridges. Most reviewers who compare the Mach3 to both the five-bladed Gillette Fusion (*Est. $11) or the four-bladed Schick Quattro (*Est. $10 for razor) say the shave is better than the Quattro but not as good as the Fusion. Still, the Mach3's replacement blades cost about a dollar less than those of the Fusion, so there's a significant cost savings over time.
StrictlyMensBusiness.com, an Australian website, provides the best review of the Mach3 Turbo, comparing it with seven other leading razor brands. Which? magazine also compares the model with other razors, giving it good reviews. The razor fairs favorably in reviews from The Boston Globe, ShaveReview.com and TheDartmouth.com. We also consult owner comments on Amazon.com.

Naomi Aoki asks six firemen to shave one half of their faces with the Gillette Mach3, and the other half with the Schick Quattro razor. Four out of the six testers say they'll stick with the Mach3, while only one would rather use the Schick Quattro. (The remaining tester says the difference between the shaves was "too close to call.")
