The 26-cubic-foot Samsung RF266ABWP is a French-door refrigerator with a built-in filtered water and ice dispenser, electronic controls and glass shelves. It's available in white, black, stainless steel and platinum. Owners posting comments to retailer websites seem to like the platinum version of this refrigerator, noting that it doesn't show fingerprints and smudges as easily as other finishes. While we did read a few complaints about the water dispenser leaking, there were fewer such complaints for this model than for others. Owners agree that the Samsung is very quiet, unlike most refrigerators, and there are very few complaints about breakdowns. If you can do without French doors, the side-by-side Hotpoint HSS22GFTWW (*Est. $1,000) has almost as much capacity and a through-the-door water dispenser, but we did read more durability and noise complaints about this refrigerator than for the Samsung.
ConsumerReports.org includes the Samsung RF266ABWP in its latest refrigerator roundup, and PlanetGreen.com recommends this refrigerator as an eco-friendly choice for large families. We also found owner reviews for this model at Sears.com, BestBuy.com and Samsung.com. And in J.D. Power and Associates' annual customer satisfaction survey, Samsung receives the highest ranking among manufacturers of side-by-side and French-door refrigerators.
