The entry-level Robomower RM200 is the least expensive robotic lawn mower on the market, but it can only handle very small lawns, and we found very few reviews of it. Once the initial setup is done -- laying perimeter wire around the area to be mowed -- it mows the area on its own. However, you have to take the mower to its starting point each time you want to run it, either by carrying its 39-pound weight or by using an optional remote control (*Est. $80).

We found the most thorough review of the RM200 at a retail site, Probotics.com. Epinions has owner reviews of Robomowers, and a Robomower Yahoo! Group has several dozen posts about the RM200. The forum section in the retail site Robomower.biz also has news and information about the Robomower RM200.

Editors recommend the Robomower RM200 for small lawns or lawns with several small areas, calling it "well designed" and predicting that it "should provide years of trouble-free use."
