- Great cushioning
- Appropriate for those with average to high arches
- Good for heavier people
- Wider midfoot enhances comfort
- Too heavy for racers
- Some say it isn't durable
August 2008. Reviewers say the Adidas Supernova Cushion 7 is a good running shoe for people with medium to high arches who like balanced cushioning and shock dispersion. Adidas went to a new foot model for its 2008 line to widen the midfoot area, and there are two new heel plates to absorb impact. The extra cushioning means the shoe isn't especially light -- 12 ounces for men and 10 for women – so it's better for training than for distance races. Some owner reviews express disappointment with durability, and one professional review said there were signs of wear at 50 miles. Just about all owner reviews say the Adidas Supernova Cushion 7 is comfortable.
We found the best reviews at Runner's World magazine, which had multiple testers use the Adidas Supernova Cushion 7 for a month. Consumer Reports does significant testing of the Adidas Supernova Cushion 7, but there is no individual write-up beyond a chart, and the breakdown is by gender rather than by foot/gait type. We found brief but credible coverage in Outside magazine, Running Times and Britain's ShoeGuide.co.uk. RoadRunnerSports.com is a retailer website, but owner reviews are plentiful and sometimes sharply critical, and we found some helpful user input at Amazon.com.
