Stability running shoes are designed for those with normal arches whose feet have only mild to moderate degrees of overpronation (meaning your feet tend to roll inward when you run). The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 10 was previously our Best-Reviewed shoe in this category but was discontinued in December 2010 with the release of the GTS 11. The two models are very similar, but the newer version boasts some improvements that help increase comfort and support. The Adrenaline GTS 11 features more gel underfoot to provide a more supported landing and an improved heel cradle ensures a snug fit. Plus, a new arch saddle gives more midfoot support. Like its predecessor, the Adrenaline GTS 11 receives stellar expert and user feedback, and has replaced the older model as a ConsumerSearch Best-Reviewed stability shoe on the market. Users and experts say that few shoes can rival the comfort and support offered by the GTS 11. It's ideal for runners of all levels and can handle multiple miles, but at 11.4 ounces, it isn't the lightest shoe out there. Plus, the one complaint we found is that the shoe fits on the narrower side. Still, Brooks offers the model in four different widths so finding the proper size shouldn't be a problem.
Most fitness magazines included the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 11 as a favorite running shoe in recent months. Runner's World - -the publication largely considered to be the go-to source for running-shoe reviews -- selected the shoe as the best update in their Winter 2011 quarterly guide. The same honor was previously bestowed upon the Adrenaline GTS 10. Shape, Self, Women's Health and more also call the Adrenaline GTS 11 a top pick. The reviews found in these publications tend to be brief; for more in-depth reviews, look to Amazon.com's plentiful user reviews or blogs such as RuntheLine.com.
The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 11 earns the distinction of Best Update in the Winter 2010 Running Shoe Guide from Runner's World. The magazine's quarterly guides are the gold standard for running-shoe reviews. Shoes are wear-tested by several runners and reviewed by Warren Greene and Martyn Shorten -- arguably two of the foremost experts on running shoes. The Adrenaline GTS 11 earns praise for improved impact protection, support and flexibility.
