Although there are less expensive options for XM receivers for the home or car, the Delphi XpressRC gets favorable reviews from experts and users alike. The full-color display is the first thing that attracts the eye of reviewers, and favorite features include a buffer that saves up to an hour of programming and allows users to pause and replay what they just heard. TuneSelect, which alerts you when a favorite song is playing, and GameSelect, which does the same for sporting events, are also well received. There's no wireless transmitter; instead, the car kit includes a cassette deck adapter. Neater, more professional-looking installation methods are available, but require extra cost accessories or professional assistance. The Delphi SkyFi3 (*est. $80) is also feature-packed, but its otherwise nice display is monochrome and while a wireless transmitter is included, it is underpowered and the source of some user complaints (other installation methods are available as options, however).

The Delphi XpressRC is the subject of a blog review at CNet.com, where it largely earns the respect of a critic who states "my love for satellite radio is nonexistent." We also found over 50 consumer reviews at sites such as Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com, some of which are surprisingly useful and even comparative.

1. CNET

CNet.com's Don Reisinger gives a favorable review of the Delphi XpressRC, though he notes that he's not a big fan of satellite radio. He says that the XpressRC jumps out at you with its full-color, easy-to-read display.

2. Amazon.com

The Delphi Xpress RC receives a rating of 4.5 out of five stars based on about 40 owner reviews, with well over half awarding it a perfect score. Some comparative reviewers are disappointed in only finding 10 channel presets on the XpressRC, when other radios have 30.

Here the Delphi XpressRC again gets 4.5 out of five stars, this time with about a dozen owner reviews. A couple of reviews note problems with the FM modulator.
