Delphi ExpressRC XM Satellite Reciever, June 29, 2009

I have owned the Express RC unit for several weeks and am extremely happy with the small footprint (vent mount), bright display, crystal clear reception even in the hilly rural are where I live, and very useful features that you'll actually want to use. Professionally installed with the Audiovox XM Direct module. If you're like me and want a clean look with no loose and dangling wires laying across the dash and console then this is the only way to go even if you car audio system is equipped with an auxilliary port. My only hesitation was with what is almost universal negative feedback on XM Radio customer service. Most of the complaints are from long term customers over programming changes and difficulty in cancelling subscriptions. But I've taken the leap and only time will tell but so far...so good.

Awesome!, June 14, 2009
This is the first satellite receiver I have owned and I really relied on customer reviews to pick one. I must say I'm so impressed with this unit! It was incredibly easy to install, the color screen is beautiful and the sound is great! So far I have had no problem at all with the signal.
I think my iPod sabatoged my XpressRC **updated!!!, June 11, 2009

Got this unit in November of 2008... I was tickled to pieces. I set up a few channels as favorites. One day I hopped in the car, set my XpressRC in the car adapter and it had reset itself to what I assume were factory settings. All my favorites gone. I even had to redo the screen settings. This continued to happen on a regular basis and I just finally gave up setting favorites. But I was still pretty happy with the unit. Just no convenient favorites. Now, as of yesterday, the unit no longer powers on. At All. I've refreshed... I've checked both the car adapter and the home adapter. Nothing. Twice when trying, it did show "Please Wait", but nothing. Aside from those nuisances, it gets pretty shoddy reception in the car on my normal route, but I would guess that's a joint issue between the unit and my location. If I can get the unit working again, I'll deal with it, but otherwise I will pass on another Delphi. UPDATE: the not working part was totally my fault. Plus, in the process of figuring out what was up I refreshed my receiver and things seem to be working fine. I haven't checked to see if my favorites are still there, but it hasn't reset the screen settings. Overall most of this has been user error. I thought I gave ample time to form an objective opinion but even now, I'm still figuring this thing out. I still wish we had better reception but that's no fault of the unit really.

Delphi Xpress RC, June 8, 2009

I love the look and features of this unit. It plays well. This is my second unit that I purchased. My son bought one 10 months ago and I bought one 7 months ago. His still plays fine. My first one died after 7 months, the screen went blank. I have not put any effort into contacting Delphi, but was very disappointed, maybe they will help when I send back. At first XM wanted $15 to transfer service. After much complaining about not my fault or choice they waived the charge but screwed up my subscription for 2 months with on and off and partial service. Another story but a very bad experience. But, ALL is well now and I hope this one lasts longer. Based on its operation and screen style I would buy another one.

Great features ... if only it would stop freezing..., April 21, 2009

I purchased this unit from Amazon in January 2009. I loved the display and the alert features, but then the unit started freezing. None of the buttons would work, not even the power button. To restart it we had to completely unplug it from the power supply & when we did this we lost ALL of our settings - all of our Artist/song alerts, all of our saved songs, all of our favorite channels ... everything. We thought the first time was a fluke, so we gave it another chanced but after the THIRD time it was time to return it. Amazon did a great job of getting a replacement radio to us right away. Everything was perfect for about a month then the SAME EXACT thing happened again - the unit froze, had to unplug it to reboot, lost all settings but this time the color screen also went away and it became a black & white display! We are returning it for a refund. Do we just have bad luck that we got 2 different faulty units or is this a general problem with this unit??

CNet.com's Don Reisinger gives a favorable review of the Delphi XpressRC, though he notes that he's not a big fan of satellite radio. He says that the XpressRC jumps out at you with its full-color, easy-to-read display.

2. Amazon.com

The Delphi Xpress RC receives a rating of 4.5 out of five stars based on about 40 owner reviews, with well over half awarding it a perfect score. Some comparative reviewers are disappointed in only finding 10 channel presets on the XpressRC, when other radios have 30.
