Excellent Scanner - no WINDOWS 7 support caught me off guard, November 15, 2009
I have tons of peripheral products and upgraded to Windows 7 32bit Ultimate and was surprised there is no support. This thing is a boat anchor now. Oh well, I guess I'll use my old Epson scanner for a while. It is three years old, but Epson was nice enough to patch together a W7 driver for it. Come on Fujitsu!
No driver support for OS 10.6 and Win 7 !, November 5, 2009

I have both the Mac and Win version of this scanner. As of 11-05-09 there is still no driver for Mac OS 10.6. This is critical since major functionality is compromised. Fujitsu's advice: "Reinstall OS 10.5." Incredible. As of this same date there is still no driver for Win7 either. Is this company brain dead?? If you are using Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) do not buy this scanner. Same for Win 7.

Great Scanner but NO WINDOWS 7 SUPPORT OR DRIVERS!, October 31, 2009
Love it, but I have to boot into XP to run it. Oh well.
Do not buy any ScanSnap if you have Windows 7, October 26, 2009
Please note that until sometime in 2010 (according to Fujitsu) there will be NO driver support for Windows 7. So, if you have Win 7, steer clear of these scanners until further notice.
Feeder is BAD!, October 18, 2009
The feeder jams at anything over two sheets of paper. If a piece of paper has a staple hole, the feeder jams. If a piece of paper was ever folded, the feeder jams. The manufacturer will not take the product back, so if you get one with a bad feeder you are stuck. I see all the great reviews, but my experience with the product has been very bad.

1. Macworld

Joe Kissell's review covers all major points but compares the Fujitsu ScanSnap S510M (the Mac version of the scanner) only to the previous three versions of itself. That said, Macworld gives the ScanSnap S510M 4.5 out of five "mice." Kissell is also impressed with the bundled software, which he says "alone is worth far more than the scanner itself."
