- Shows results for Google, Yahoo! and MSN / Windows Live
- Distinguishes paid from organic results
- Can filter results by domain type
- Firefox plugin available
- Very limited advanced search
- Researchers don't recommend meta-search engines
- Doesn't include Ask.com in results
April 2009. A meta-search engine, Jux2.com combines results from Google, Yahoo! and Windows Live Search, so all three can be searched at once. Reviewers praise the way Jux2, unlike most meta-search engines, clearly distinguishes between paid and unpaid listings, but there's no way to filter out the paid listings. Its advanced search lets users see results from just one type of domain (such as .org or .edu), but it offers far fewer options than advanced search at Google or Yahoo! Search.
The only recommendation of the Jux2 meta-search engine we found was at SearchEngineWatch.com, where in 2005 it earned a top ranking from users for its category. Since then, it's gotten new owners and been further improved. The most credible review of search engines we found -- at the University of California, Berkeley Library site -- doesn't review Jux2 directly but recommends against all meta-search engines for serious research.

Experts here recommend using a combination of Google and Yahoo! Search (as well as Exalead) rather than using meta-search engines. Editors say using the separate search engines gives access to far more advanced search tools.
