The Honeywell HZ-385BP is a ceramic tower heater with a built-in fan. Reviewers say it heats quickly and is easy to use. The Honeywell HZ-385BP has more safety features than most space heaters; in addition to the standard tip-over switch, overheat protection and cool-touch housing, it has a motion sensor that shuts off the heater temporarily if any object comes too close. The Honeywell HZ-385BP also has a warning badge that turns red when the grill is hot (it can reach a temperature of about 200 degrees Fahrenheit). The convenience features of this space heater include a timer, a programmable thermostat and a digital display that, unlike most models, can show the temperature in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. The whole machine can oscillate to help disperse heat. In professional tests, this model scores well on safety and ease of use, but its temperature control and noise level are below average. The few user reviews we found for this heater are mixed; users like its heating performance, but some find the intense blue light from its display to be disturbing at night. We found better user reviews for the Lasko 755320 Ceramic Tower Heater (*Est. $50) , which gets high marks for its heat output and relatively quiet operation.

The best review we found of the Honeywell HZ-385BP appears at ConsumerReports.org. This model also appears in comparison tests conducted by the Good Housekeeping Research Institute and Slate.com. We found a handful of user reviews for this model at Amazon.com and Epinions.com.
