Fuel economy is unchanged from 2010. It ranges from 19 mpg combined with the standard six-speed manual transmission (16 mpg city/26 mpg highway with the base 3-liter engine, losing 1 mpg highway with the optional 3.6-liter engine) to 22 mpg combined with the optional six-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive (18 mpg city/27 mpg highway). Optional all-wheel drive reduces fuel economy by 1 mpg overall.
Crash ratings are also unchanged. The Cadillac CTS sedan earns the highest side-crash ratings in tests by both the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, along with perfect scores in IIHS's front, rear and rollover roof-strength crash tests. The CTS's government crash scores drop to 4 stars (out of 5) for rollover avoidance and for protecting the driver in a frontal crash. Standard safety equipment includes antilock brakes, traction and stability control, and front, front-side and curtain airbags.
Base MSRP for the 2011 Cadillac CTS sedan carries over from 2010 at $35,165, rising to $49,520 for the highest Premium trim with AWD.
