The Cadillac CTS-V is an endlessly powerful (and predictably gas-guzzling) midsize sports sedan that ranks closely behind the best-reviewed 2011 Audi S4 (Base MSRP $46,600) in reviews. The 2011 CTS-V sedan carries forward unchanged from 2010, however, it also gains two new stablemates this year: the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe (available now) and CTS-V Sport Wagon (arriving in showrooms in late 2010), both of which share the sedan's supercharged 556-horsepower V8. For more information on Cadillac's muscle sedan, see our page on the 2010 Cadillac CTS-V (Base MSRP $60,720).

Fuel economy is unchanged for 2011 -- it's still worst-in-class at the Environmental Protection Agency. Expect 14 mpg city/19 mpg highway/16 mpg combined with the standard six-speed manual transmission or 12 mpg city/18 mpg highway/14 mpg combined with the optional six-speed automatic.

Safety ratings are also unchanged. Cadillac CTS models earn a Top Safety Pick designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, posting the highest possible ratings in all of IIHS's crash tests. Government crash ratings are a perfect 5 stars in side crashes, with 4 stars for frontal-crash protection and rollover resistance. Standard safety features include antilock brakes, traction and stability control, and front, front-side and curtain airbags.

The 2011 Cadillac CTS-V sedan comes in a single trim level, at a base MSRP of $62,165.
