
The Lincoln MKS is a luxury-oriented sports sedan that competes with -- but isn't recommended as often as -- the top-rated 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class (Base MSRP: $49,400 to $59,600) and Hyundai Genesis sedan (Base MSRP $33,000 to $43,800). The 2011 MKS carries over unchanged from 2010 except for the addition of standard Sync turn-by-turn directions and optional HD radio and remote start. Fuel economy is unchanged for 2011, at 17 mpg city/24 mpg highway/19 mpg combined with the base 3.7-liter, V6 engine and front-wheel drive, dropping 1 mpg city and highway with all-wheel drive. The more powerful turbocharged "EcoBoost" engine delivers 17 mpg city/25 mpg highway/20 mpg combined.
Safety ratings are also unchanged for 2011. The Lincoln MKS earns the highest possible scores in all government and independent front-, side-, rear- and rollover roof-strength crash tests, and it earns 4 stars (out of 5) in government rollover-resistance tests. Standard safety features include antilock brakes with brake assist, traction and stability control, and front, front-side and curtain airbags.
Pricing is the same as in 2010. Base MSRP for the 2011 Lincoln MKS ranges from $41,270 with the base engine and front-wheel drive to $48,160 for the all-wheel-drive MKS EcoBoost.
