The Shark Steam Pocket Mop S3501 is one of the more popular steam mops, receiving high average ratings on sites such as Amazon.com. Like the original Shark Steam Mop S3101 (*Est. $50), the Shark Steam Pocket Mop uses a pump-handle mechanism to release steam, which some users complain is tiring, but the S3501's handle length is adjustable, which tall users appreciate. The power cord is 30 feet long, and the water tank holds 15 ounces of water. The Steam Pocket's swiveling mop head can flip over a full 180 degrees, effectively doubling the cleaning space of each mop pad. The Pocket Mop comes with a carpet glider and two double-sided covers. The mop head not only pivots 180 degrees, but it also flips over, so when the microfiber cover gets dirty or soggy, you can flip it over to use the other side.
Despite these additions, reviewers say the Shark Steam Pocket Mop S3501 suffers from many of the same durability problems as the Shark Steam Mop S3101, namely the handle. More than 17 percent of reviewers on Amazon.com give the Shark Steam Pocket Mop only 1 star out of 5, citing mops that stop working after a few months and poor customer service. The Bissell 1867-7 Steam Mop (*Est. $80) and the Haan FS-20 (*Est. $80) offer similarly priced alternatives.
