At a quarter of the price of the highly rated Hoover Platinum Collection Cordless Stick Vac BH50010 (*Est. $165) , the Eureka Quick-Up Cordless 96 (the letters at the end of the model number correspond to color) works well enough on bare floors, but it can't compete when vacuuming carpet, experts say. Still, it is quiet and offers the added bonus of converting to a hand vacuum, which makes cleaning upholstery more convenient. As a handheld vac, it lacks the crevice tool that comes with the corded Dirt Devil Versa Power Stick SD20000 (*Est. $25) . This cordless stick vacuum will only last for about 15 minutes of continuous runtime on a typical charge, however, so it's not ideal for bigger cleaning jobs.
