Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen is very light and absorbs quickly without any noticeable sheen, making it a boon for those with oily skin. Ultra Sheer comes in three different formulations and SPFs 30 through 100+ and Ultra Sheer com. If you prefer a more natural option, reviewers recommend Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Sensitive (Est. $15 for 5 oz.) .
Excellent protection and many SPF options. Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch offers broad spectrum protection and is available in several SPF levels, all of which contain Helioplex, a patented ingredient that stabilizes avobenzone and allows for longer protection times. The formula offers excellent sun protection and is water-resistant for up to 80 minutes. Reviewers give the formula two thumbs up for its stay-put power, never running into their eyes.
Antioxidants have been shown to boost the protection levels of sunscreen, but in Ultra Sheers' reformulation, antioxidants were taken out. Because of this, skin-care expert Paula Begoun downgraded the rating to "good" instead of "best."
Light and quick-drying. Reviewers love the lightweight feel of Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch sunscreen. Begoun says that the formula goes on "creamy" but dries to a "weightless" matte finish. She says it's an excellent option for oily skin types who struggle to find a sunscreen that doesn't feel heavy or greasy. Users say their skin feels dry to the touch. One MakeupAlley.com user says, "It isn't totally dry, but sooo much better than most sunscreens."
The formula contains a small amount of fragrance but users say the scent is hardly noticeable. They add that it doesn't have the same telltale scent common in many other sunscreens.
