The Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2 replaces a reviewer favorite, the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo, and owners like the new version even better. Bridgestone says its new sidewall and tread designs make the Revo 2 grippier and quieter than its predecessor, with less rolling resistance (which can mean better gas mileage).
Owners give the Dueler A/T Revo 2 higher scores than the venerable Pirelli Scorpion ATR (*Est. $175) on wet and snowy roads, although owners say both tires exhibit weaknesses on ice. Both the Bridgestone and Pirelli tires carry 50,000-mile treadwear warranties, although the Dueler A/T Revo only carries the warranty on passenger-metric sizes, not its light-truck-metric sizes. The Pirelli has a long track record of quality performance and long treadwear, which the newer Revo 2 can't match. The Pirelli Scorpion ATR has also proven itself off-road worthy in tests, while we found no off-road tests yet for the Revo 2.
ConsumerReports.org tests the original Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo -- not the Revo 2 -- but the tires are similar enough that the ratings are useful. Owners at TireRack.com and 1010Tires.com report on their early experiences with the brand-new Revo 2.

With a tread pattern reminiscent of the ultra-pricey Interco TSL Bogger tires, the Dick Cepek Crusher prompts Petersen's 4Wheel & Off-Road testers to wonder whether this radial tire could outdo a bias-ply Bogger in the mud. The answer is no, although the Crusher does a great job on both mud and rocks and even better on sand. The super-aggressive tread hums loudly on the highway, but the noise is "bearable."

The Dick Cepek Crusher is a favorite mud tire among owners here, with an average rating of 9.4 out of 10 in five reviews. Owners love the fierce-looking tread pattern. They report some pull and drag on the highway, but nothing that's unexpected from a quality mud tire.

Only four owners had posted reviews here for the Dick Cepek Crusher when we checked, but all rave about its performance in mud and snow, as well as the skull-shaped tread lugs wrapped around the sidewalls.
