February 2009. Reviews say the Hankook DynaPro MT RT03 is a solid off-road tire, although it is more expensive than the better-reviewed Firestone Destination M/T (*est. $130). The DynaPro MT RT03 makes some compromises to perform well both on and off the pavement, so its off-road performance is ranked in the middle of the pack. Reviews say it delivers a fairly smooth, quiet ride on pavement, excels on rocky terrain and performs acceptably on sand, mud, snow and ice. (Optional studs improve traction.) There's no treadwear warranty. If off-road driving is not your main priority, reviews say the Pirelli Scorpion ATR (*est. $125) gives the best all-around performance on pavement, dirt and gravel, and it carries a 50,000-mile treadwear warranty.

We found three detailed reviews of the Hankook DynaPro MT RT03 at websites devoted to off-roading. Petersen's 4 Wheel & Off-Road magazine, Four Wheeler magazine and Off-road.com test the tire in varied off-road terrain as well as on pavement. Forty owners report their experiences with this tire at Off-roaders.com.
