Too many versions. Too many "gotcha's" to increase cost. When TaxCut includes broker downloads TT will be in trouble. That is the… only reason for not using TaxCut rather than TurboTax. Also, having the availability of a "next years planner" would be great. There once was provision for forecasting the following years situation. Now, not much help. TurboTax is still good but when competitors improve the aggrevated customers will jump ship quickly.

Yakal compares TurboTax Premier 2008 to both TaxCut and TaxACT. Once again, TurboTax is given the PC Magazine Editors' Choice award, but this year it wins by a slim margin. Yakal concludes that TurboTax is the most well-designed program of the three.

PC World reviews, rates and ranks five online tax filing services and gives TurboTax Premier 2008 the highest rating of all. Tina Orem says that Intuit's tax preparation software gives the best guidance as well as the best explanations, but that better deals are available for simple returns.
