This review is for the step-up TurboTax Premier version, but TurboTax Deluxe is very similar minus some specific guidance for investments, etc. Tax expert Kathy Yakal tests tax-prep programs every year and, as usual, this year she finds TurboTax easier to use than others.

TurboTax Deluxe is the most reviewed and one of the highest-rated tax software programs at Amazon.com, although it earns only 3.5 stars (out of 5). Most users like it, but several were peeved to find out that state e-filing costs $20 extra; based on the "Federal + State 2009 + eFile" name, they thought it was included.
