- Spout pours perfectly
- Handle stays cool
- Dull design
- Users report steam escapes from lid

The Bodum Ibis electric kettle offers a good combination of features and value, say reviews. With a seven-cup capacity, it is both larger and cheaper than other highly rated kettles, including the top-rated (and more stylish) Capresso H2O Plus (*Est. $60). Reviews say the Bodum kettle pours easily and is comfortable to hold, with an automatic shut-off, a detachable jug, a visible water gauge and a filter to catch minerals deposited by water. It boils a full tank in less than five minutes. With a carafe made of plastic, the Bodum Ibis doesn't win style points, though it is available in two colors (white and black). Bodum also offers a smaller version, the Ibis Mini (*Est. $30).
Two sources, Slate.com and About.com, provide the best reviews of the Bodum Ibis electric kettle. Slate is the only publication to test the Ibis along with six other kettles. About.com's coffee and tea guide comments on its features, but doesn't test it alongside others. The Bodum Ibis kettle gets about 100 owner-written ratings at Amazon.com, for a clear idea of user consensus.

3. About.com
The Bodum Ibis Electric cordless kettle is listed as second out of eight kettles. A short review says it boils fast and the carafe is easily lifted from its base, but it isn't clear whether Sean Paajanen tested this kettle or examined its features.
