Perfect for travel, November 16, 2009lasted 2 years & a new one on the way, October 23, 2009I got this exactly 2 years ago and used it 4-5x a day with no problems. Nice compact size, heats water in a flash (no plastic taste), and fairly attractive on counter top. It stopped working this morning &… after looking over all the options on amazon, I decided to get another. Performance is great & 2 years heavy use seems like a reasonable lifespan considering the price & the fact that the heating element is unprotected.
Didn't last-switch died, October 19, 2009And now I'm shopping for a replacement!
Wish it wasn't plastic, September 10, 2009I had this kettle for a few years in my office and loved it. It works great, didn't heat up the counter, boiled water very fast, and didn't leak. I ended up getting rid of it due to concerns of chemicals… leaching out of plastic--particularly when heated to the point of boiling. I wish Bodum would offer a steel version of the mini-ibus, and make it cordless--then it would be the perfect kettle. If anyone finds a small capacity stainless kettle with no plastic heating elements--let me know!
