Capresso H2O Electric Kettle, November 22, 2009

We are quite happy with our electric kettle. It appears to be sturdy, reliable, easy to clean and attractive in appearance. The only reservation I have is that it doesn't boil the water as fast as I originally thought it would (full kettle in about 4 1/2 minutes); however, it does works well. There is a slight odor associated with the heating element, but it is not all that noticeable, and does not merit some of the criticisms other purchasers have made in their reviews.

Beautiful Tea kettle, November 22, 2009

I bought this kettle on 10/18/09 and use it in the morning and at night for tea. It heats water very quickly and, since made of glass, does so beautifully. It was worth the money I paid and I do not regret my purchase. :)

Lid on Capresso unit appears to be blistering, November 21, 2009
We are not experiencing the problems noted by some other users of this product. At this time, our only problem is : it appears the silver lid is blistering. It appears the lid can be replaced easily. We are hoping this problem can be easily resolved. We love the convenience and speed with which it heats the water. We have asked the seller to simply send us a new lid.
Fast Boil, Water Level Sensitive, November 14, 2009

I am a tea connoisseur, and this is the best kettle I've used by far! The kettle turns off automatically, so I don't need to watch it boil. When boiling 4 cups of water it takes less than 2 min; I can go and do whatever I need, and even 20 min later it's still hot. Plus, the boiling time changes with the level of the water. The base never gets hot when water is boiling, and I can pick up the kettle and put it down somewhere else. What's also great is that if you use tap water, you can see when you need to clean out the kettle. Just boil vinegar in the pot and leave it for a little while, and it comes out clean. I used to use tap water, so I would clean it out with vinegar; now I use filtered water and never need to clean it. Great kettle; completely worth the price.

Problem with smell and auto-start, November 8, 2009

I recently bought one from World Market and returned it. The rubber smell was too strong and did not get any better after cleaning it over and over. Also on several occasions it started by itself so I could never leave it with cord plugged in. We have cuisinart which works great however it brakes down after a while. I went through 2 of them so far. We still have one for upstairs. I bought a Hamilton Beach (SS 10 cup) from Costco for downstairs. It works perfect. I am not sure if it will breakdown anytime soon, but at least it is not as expensive and does not have any foul smell.
