Choosing a TV used to be a lot easier. Setting a budget and deciding on the screen size and features got you most of the way there. While there were some other things to also consider, at least all televisions used the same underlying technology. In other words, televisions were televisions.
Today, things are a lot different. You'll find a bewildering array of choices, including two different types of flat-panel televisions and three different types of projection TVs. Even the good old standard-definition TV is still hanging on. So while budget, picture size and features remain important, things like the types of programs you watch and the room where you watch them can play just as big a role in finding the perfect high-definition TV.
