As a budget two-person tent, reviews recommend this classic A-frame, which still earns praise for its sturdy construction, weather resistance and lifetime warranty. Even at this price, you get a freestanding tent with shock-corded poles for easy setup, plus interior storage pockets and loops for hanging a flashlight and clothesline. It's crowded for two people, however, and heavy for backpacking even without the optional vestibule (*Est. $40). If you plan to do a lot of backpacking with a partner, consider the top-ranked backpacking tent, the Nemo Losi 3P (*Est. $400), which provides a lot more space but weighs less.
We found the most owner-written reviews at TheBackpacker.com, where more than a dozen owners review and rate it. We also found useful reviews from owners at Amazon.com, Cabelas.com and Trailspace.com. A more detailed single-product review at the Bass Pro Shops website is also based on personal experience, but reads a bit like an ad.
