It's a basic, two-slice toaster, but the Cuisinart 2-Slice Compact Plastic Toaster CPT-122 gets high praise for its seven settings -- which include bagel, defrost, reheat and cancel -- wide slots and bread lifter. It's reported as easy to use and clean. Reviewers say it can sometimes toast bread unevenly, and the light/dark dial is easy to knock off of its setting if you bump it while moving the toaster.
Rated highly. Expert and consumer reviewers rate the Cuisinart 2-Slice Compact Plastic Toaster CPT-122 highly overall. This toaster has bagel, defrost, reheat and cancel settings, along with a round seven-setting dial to control the lightness/darkness of the toast. Its extra-wide slots make it easy to toast a bagel or Texas toast. An extra-high carriage brings toasted items up above the top of the toaster so users can remove them easily without burning their fingers. A few reviewers note the CPT-122 toasts one side of the bread darker than the other side. The CPT-122 has a three-year warranty.
Easy to clean. The Cuisinart CPT-122 is easy to clean -- you simply wipe the exterior with a clean damp cloth and dry it. The slide-out crumb tray makes it easy to remove crumbs. An LED indicator lights when the bagel, defrost or reheat options are chosen. Some reviewers note the lightness/darkness dial is perhaps too easy to move and can change settings when bumped. The controls, located on the end of the toaster, are easy to access and use. The bread lifter can be pulled up to a setting close to the top of the toaster to make it easy to retrieve shorter items.
