However, reviews at Amazon.com are mixed, with more than 370 reviewers giving it an average rating of 3.5 stars out of 5. Although many owners seem perfectly happy with it, quite a few complain of uneven browning, particularly with regular supermarket bread as opposed to thicker items like bagels and Texas toast. Part of the reason might be its wide slots -- great for big bagels, but large enough that thinner items may not get close enough to the heat source.
