We found owner-written reviews of this toaster at Amazon.com and Epinions. Of the two, Amazon.com is the more credible, with more than 100 reviews to Epinions' 11. The reviews at Amazon are also longer and more detailed.
Among four-slice toasters, we found the best reviews for the Krups FEM4B. Owners say that this toaster has it all: bagel/defrost settings, cord storage, an eight-setting dial and two separate sets of controls, which allows each side of the toaster to brown bread independently of the other. Its only downsides are its size -- it's a little over 12 inches wide -- and toasting time, which may be up to three minutes for some items. This Krups toaster has garnered quite a bit of feedback at Amazon.com, where owners agree that it does a good job. The Krups FEM4W (*est. $80) is identical, but with white plastic instead of black. If you don't need a four-slice toaster, the two-slice KitchenAid KMTT200 (*est. $70) is rated highest overall.
