High-fashion design has invaded the bathroom, and the Kohler Purist Hatbox is one example. Waste removal testing conducted by Maximum Performance (MaP) Testing of Popular Toilet Models reveals the Purist Hatbox flushed 800 grams of solid waste, which compares favorably with other highly rated toilets. The Purist Hatbox uses electronics rather than gravity or pressure to flush, so you will need to position it near an electric outlet (or install one for it). The seat closes electronically. Several users do report that the electronics or pump failed within the first year. The Purist Hatbox is compact in size because it has no tank, so it will easily fit into small bathrooms, yet it meets Americans with Disabilities Act height requirements. You can spend far less on standard toilets; the Toto UltraMax MS854114S (*Est. $375) also has a one-piece design, but it's not nearly as stylish.
