July 2008. Reviews recommend the Brooks Cascadia 3 trail-running shoe (for men and women) for long runs on packed trails, shorter road runs and even for hiking. Lab tests show that the MoGo midsole lasts longer than EVA midsoles and provides more spring. The water-resistant upper on the Brooks trail shoe dries quickly and keeps out debris. The curved last is designed for runners with neutral to mild overpronation (feet rolling inward only slightly when running). One reviewer finds it lacks traction on wet rock or loose gravel.

We found the most thorough comparison tests of the Brooks Cascadia 3 at Runner's World, Outside and Running Times magazines. A detailed single-product review published at Breakheart Trail Running confirms these reviews and adds some caveats about traction. We found the most owner-written reviews at Zappos.com, but the few reviews at Road Runner Sports are especially useful because they seem to be by more experienced trail runners.
