I echo what other reviewers have said, they are weak bags. It seems rather self-defeating to call something this poorly functioning eco-friendly if you have to double bag or use more bags because you can't fill them w/ much.
Great idea but not functional, July 31, 2009
I like that these bags are recycled and generally love most all of seventh generations products. But these bags just don't deliver. 90% of the bags in the box were sealed together at the top and ripped when trying to open them up to place them in the trash can.
Earth friendly Kitchen Trash Bags, May 2, 2009
Fit well and have yet to have one break. No annoying smell like the previous biodegradable ones I bought. Best of all by buying by the case they last me all year!
7th Generation tall kitchen bags, December 3, 2008
These kitchen trash bags are made from recycled material plastic (55%). I incorrectly assumed they were also biodegradeable. After contacting 7th Generation, they are NOT biodegradeable. I now have alot of them and they are good bags, just not what I thought.

Good product. Not as heavy as your non eco products, but if your using for regular everyday trash they are fine. I have used with heavy items and as long as there was no sharp items, they worked fine. Give them a try I think you will be pleasantly surprised. And, you will be helping the environment.
