Smooth 9.17 HRO

Pros
  • Some reviewers like the Smooth 9.17's orthopedic belt with shock-absorption technology, but they say that the difference is not dramatic. This treadmill's power folding is also said to be a nice feature, and the Smooth 9.17's ability to store up to nine user profiles makes it ideal for families. The warranty is solid.
Cons
  • Even when folded, the Smooth 9.17 HRO still occupies a fair amount of space. This is a heavy machine, and not particularly portable, according to reviewers, so you shouldn't expect to be able to move it from room to room.

An updated version of the bestselling Smooth 9.15, the Smooth 9.17 HRO features a shock-absorbing orthopedic running belt, power fold and a quality 3-hp motor. Reviews question the belt size (54" x 20"), which is shorter than others in this price range. Most reviews say the Smooth 9.17 is a very good treadmill, but for the money, you can get a longer belt from PaceMaster or Landice.
