- The Weslo Cadence 80 is extremely cheap, and it's widely available at warehouse clubs. Some owners say it's just fine as a beginning treadmill.
- With its 45" x 16" belt, 1.3-hp motor and 250-pound weight limit, the Weslo Cadence 80 treadmill has nowhere near the specs of more respectable units. Durability is an issue in reviews of several Weslo Cadence treadmills in this price range.
Experts are unanimous in warning folks to stay away from the Weslo Cadence line, pointing out that these machines lack durability and strength and are made from low-quality parts. Also, the specs of the Weslo Cadence 80 treadmill can't even approach those of more expensive treadmills. It has an unusually short and narrow (45" by 16") belt, an unusually weak (1.3 hp) motor and a relatively low 250-pound weight limit.
The Weslo Cadence line in general (though not the Weslo Cadence 80 in particular) is discussed by specialty treadmill-review sites like TreadmillTips.com and ExerciseEquipmentExpert.com. We supplemented these discussions with a handful of posts from owners of the Weslo Cadence 80 treadmill at Sears.com (which sells this model).

2. Exercise Equipment Expert.com
Fitness trainer and treadmill enthusiast Bret Spottke's refers to "20 different Weslo Cadence models that range from bad to worse," and he is astonished by their popularity (which he attributes to their price and to the fact that they're sold at warehouse clubs). Amusingly, he points out that Weslo Cadence replacement parts are searched for on Google almost as often as the treadmills themselves.

3. Sears.com
About half a dozen owners post comments about the Weslo Cadence 80 treadmill at Sears.com, giving it mostly positive reviews (though one user does say it's very loud). However, it's clear that these machines aren't being subjected to punishing use, and without more reviews, it's hard to gauge a clear consensus.
