Pros
  • Lightweight
  • Carrying strap makes it portable
  • All-terrain dual wheels
  • Inexpensive
  • One-hand steering
Cons
  • Limited storage
  • Low Handles/li> Sun canopy slips

Most parents give the Chicco Caddy umbrella stroller high marks for its 11-pound weight, stylish design, linked rear brakes, zipper pockets on the sun shade and one-hand fold mechanism. Some owners report problems with the footrest being too close to the tires and insufficient storage space. A few parents also indicate that their kids are able to wriggle out of the straps, and some complain about a slipping sun canopy and stuck lap belts. Parents say the Chicco Caddy is a great 'disposable' stroller, obviously not meant to last forever.

Perhaps because it's so inexpensive, there are a large number of parent-written reviews for the Chicco Caddy umbrella stroller on Epinions, Target.com, Amazon.com and BabyBargains.com. Unfortunately, aside from a single editorial review at Baby-Gaga.com, there are no other professional evaluations to be found for the Chicco Caddy (not even from Consumer Reports, usually a good source of stroller reviews).

Our Sources

1. Baby-Gaga.com

Baby-Gaga.com bases its ratings and comments on interviews with parents, and this review is more detailed than any review we found, giving the Chicco Caddy umbrella stroller ratings in several performance areas, plus a final grade. The conclusion is that the Chicco Caddy is not the best stroller -- nor is it meant to be. Rather, it makes a good second stroller for quick trips.

2. Baby Bargains

This website is the online presence of the popular book, Baby Bargains. Parents are invited to leave comments or ask questions in a forum on strollers. The Chicco Caddy gets a handful of comments, but not as much attention as more expensive strollers.

3. Epinions.com

The Chicco Caddy umbrella stroller gets a good number of reviews from parents. Most parents say it's good for the price. Although it's obviously not meant to last forever, most appreciate the Chicco Caddy as a second travel stroller.

4. Target.com

About 20 owners have posted reviews of the Chicco Caddy at Target.com. As at other websites, parents say it's good for the price, though many say the handles are just too short. Other issues are a slipping canopy and a wish for more storage space.

5. Amazon.com

Reviews posted to Amazon.com are similar to those on other websites. Parents generally say that the Chicco Caddy is fine as a second travel stroller and that it's a good value. The handles are said to be on the short side.
