Parents are attracted to the Mamas & Papas Tour for its cute looks and light weight, but experts and parents say it doesn't work as well as it should for the price. Relatively new to the U.S. market, the Tour doesn't have many user reviews yet -- but the majority say the stroller has durability and ease-of-use issues.
Has all the basic safety features. The Tour has the basic safety features you would expect of a stroller in its price range. There is an unpadded five-point harness that users say is secure, and the rear wheels have brakes that experts say function well. The stroller locks in the folded position to prevent accidental opening and the front swivel wheels can be locked in the forward-facing position.
Expect operational headaches. While experts and parents say the Tour maneuvers well, its overall usability ratings are low. Parents say it's very hard to fold and the canopy is hard to adjust, with sharp plastic attachments that pose a hazard. Expert testers say that it is difficult to release the rear brakes and that brakes can get caught on stairs or curbs. Parents also say that the seat recline is stiff and that the basket is almost impossible to access. Parents like that the stroller is lightweight and that it comes with a carry strap included.
Not a whole lot of extras. Most parents fall for the Tour's bright colors. However, once they have the stroller, many say that performance doesn't live up to looks in the case of the Tour. The seat reclines, but not enough to accommodate sleeping, making the child's head roll forward in an uncomfortable position. The basket is small as well as difficult to access, and the canopy does not provide full coverage. It's suitable from 6 months to 50 pounds.
Complaints of poor service. The Tour carries a two-year warranty against manufacturer's defects. A few customers complain about poor customer service and the warranty not being honored.
