Although the Zooper Salsa fares well in professional testing, the consensus among parents is that this umbrella stroller is a bit of a lemon. The Salsa is light (13 pounds) and good looking, but we found numerous complaints about a seat liner that keeps sliding down and a hood that keeps popping off. In one instance, a faulty release mechanism caused the stroller to collapse around one mom's daughter. Many parents returned the Salsa shortly after buying it, or traded it in for the more expensive Zooper Twist (which they're much happier with). For about the same price as the Salsa, the Maclaren Triumph (*est. $150) is the top-rated reclining umbrella stroller.
Besides being included in the latest roundup of more than 30 strollers by Consumer Reports, the Zooper Salsa has also been reviewed by some very critical (and articulate) parents at sites such as Baby-Gaga.com, Amazon.com and Epinions.

2. Baby-Gaga.com
One mother posting to this online forum explains her problems with the Zooper Salsa in depth, saying the hood kept popping off, the seat liner kept sliding down, and it was difficult to steer her 30-pound two-year-old. Another parent concurs, saying she had to send her Salsa back because of defects.

3. Amazon.com
Only a handful of parents post here about the Zooper Salsa. As at other sites, one calls this stroller a "big disappointment," citing the sliding-down seat insert. A couple of owners say that putting a child into this stroller requires two sets of hands. Another mom is happier because the Salsa fits readily in her trunk.

4. Epinions.com
Only one parent posts a review of the Zooper Salsa here, but it's extremely long and thorough. Shortly after buying this stroller, she gave it a rave review, but she posted an update after four months saying it's "terrible" to steer, popped its hood, and collapsed on her daughter when she accidentally kicked the release mechanism.
