The Logitech Harmony Advanced Universal Remote for Xbox 360 has been discontinued. It's still available on a limited basis at some online retailers, but there are a variety of new options if you're a fan of the Logitech Harmony line. The top-rated Logitech Harmony One (*Est. $140) gets the best reviews, although the newer Logitech Harmony 900 (*Est. $250) earns excellent reviews. The Harmony 900 includes infrared and radio frequency (RF) to control components in other rooms or behind cabinet doors. These remotes are not made specifically for the Xbox 360, but they are compatible with it. On the less expensive side, the Universal Remote Control R50 (*Est. $75) also gets good reviews.
Reviewers say this mid-priced remote is the best value for most home users, even if you don't own an Xbox. Although designed with the Xbox in mind, the button layout makes the remote control more useful for playing DVDs on that device rather than gaming. Comprehensive reviews of the Harmony for Xbox 360 can be found at CNET (which adds a video review) and Techgage.com (which uses screen shots and photos to illustrate the points in its review). ExtremeTech.com includes the Harmony for Xbox 360 in a gift guide, but the write-up there is shorter. ConsumerReports.org and Smart Computing recommend the Harmony for Xbox remote control, and also provide some guidance, but they do not appear to have conducted any actual tests. Amazon.com is the best destination for reader reviews.
