Corsair, November 16, 2009
It's a perfect flash disk for working outside, specially in the country like Afghanistan. I'm there and this disk still working everytime, without problems. His name Survivor is really right
Keep your data safe, October 23, 2009

This product is a jumpdrive and does a fine job of that. I like to keep it in my pocket so that I always have access to it. Unfortunately it's a little bulky and also after a few months of wear the rubber grips are comming unglued. I think it's a good trade off though, since the worst thing about jumdrives is their ability to be lost or destroyed. I get the feeling like you could drive a car over this with no issue to its use in a computer. It also has a rubber gasket at the bottom of the screwing threads that may keep it watertight. Also it's bulkiness makes it harder to slip out of sight our from wherever you are carrying it. An extension usb cable is included to help it bulkiness from covering up other USB ports when it is plugged in.

Thrash resistant!, October 20, 2009
My wife recently purchased this flash drive to replace the numerous others she has destroyed in the past. So far it is holding up nicely and is expected to last for a long time. The supplied usb cable is one benefit which reduces the stress while being used on a lap top, specifically it prevents resting the lap top on the drive which normally protrudes from the side.
A slow tank, September 15, 2009
If you are looking for a very ruggedly designed USB flash drive, this is it. The downside of it is it's speed, it has to be one of the slowest devices out there. Bottom line - rock solid but very SLOW.
Rugged flash drive, August 21, 2009
I bought this drive because I needed a very rugged flash drive for backups. It has performed as I required. Excellent for those needing a flash drive that must endure hash conditions.

1. Phoronix.com

Tests includes boiling the Corsair Flash Survivor GT for more than 10 minutes and whacking it several times with a hammer. On a tamer note, reviewer Michael Larabel says the transfer rate is pretty good, and the drive is compatible with Linux, making it worth the price.

2. PCMag.com

The Flash Survivor takes a dip underwater and gets dropped down stairs to no ill effect in this hands-on review. Transfer speeds are merely average, but it's still called a "spectacular" performer. One downside is that if you lose the screw-on cap, your drive isn't protected from the elements.

3. DriverHeaven.net

The Corsair Flash Survivor is one of 19 drives tested by this anonymous reviewer, but it is primary compared with the two other tough drives in the test, the Flash Voyager and the ATP ToughDrive Mini. Performance of the Voyager is in the middle, but the drive is commended for its durability.

4. BigBruin.com

Big Bruin offers very detailed reviews of many flash drives and includes objective testing. The older Corsair Flash Survivor GT gets a Recommended tag, but reviewer Jason Kohrs notes that it would be more strongly preferred if it were cheaper (prices have dropped since).

5. I4U.com

Reviewer Shane McGlaun gives the older Corsair Flash Survivor GT an 8.5 out of 10, saying it's a "real winner," although the cap comes loose during "wash and dry" tests (when the drive takes a ride in the pocket of some pants that are laundered) and the speed in testing falls short of the company's claims.

6. EverythingUSB.com

Reviews here are thorough and based on testing, but there's no overall score or ranking. The gist is the Corsair Flash Survivor is extremely durable and fast, although the end cap comes loose.

7. Amazon.com

About 40 owner reviews give the Corsair Flash Survivor a great average score, with just a few complaints and no common thread on those. Note that these reviews encompass a variety of storage capacities, not just the 8 GB version. There's a decent video review here, too.
