Keep your data safe, October 23, 2009This product is a jumpdrive and does a fine job of that. I like to keep it in my pocket so that I always have access to it. Unfortunately it's a little bulky and also after a few months of wear the rubber… grips are comming unglued. I think it's a good trade off though, since the worst thing about jumdrives is their ability to be lost or destroyed. I get the feeling like you could drive a car over this with no issue to its use in a computer. It also has a rubber gasket at the bottom of the screwing threads that may keep it watertight. Also it's bulkiness makes it harder to slip out of sight our from wherever you are carrying it. An extension usb cable is included to help it bulkiness from covering up other USB ports when it is plugged in.

Tests includes boiling the Corsair Flash Survivor GT for more than 10 minutes and whacking it several times with a hammer. On a tamer note, reviewer Michael Larabel says the transfer rate is pretty good, and the drive is compatible with Linux, making it worth the price.

The Flash Survivor takes a dip underwater and gets dropped down stairs to no ill effect in this hands-on review. Transfer speeds are merely average, but it's still called a "spectacular" performer. One downside is that if you lose the screw-on cap, your drive isn't protected from the elements.

The Corsair Flash Survivor is one of 19 drives tested by this anonymous reviewer, but it is primary compared with the two other tough drives in the test, the Flash Voyager and the ATP ToughDrive Mini. Performance of the Voyager is in the middle, but the drive is commended for its durability.

Reviewer Shane McGlaun gives the older Corsair Flash Survivor GT an 8.5 out of 10, saying it's a "real winner," although the cap comes loose during "wash and dry" tests (when the drive takes a ride in the pocket of some pants that are laundered) and the speed in testing falls short of the company's claims.
