Electrolux Intensity

pros
  • Experts praise the Electrolux Intensity's light weight, its stylish, compact design and the fact that it can be folded for storage. They also say it does a good job cleaning carpets and hard floors.
cons
  • Despite its light weight, the Intensity's large wheels can make it difficult to push, according to one source. This vacuum lacks tools and has a short (21-foot) power cord. Also, by the evidence of a YouTube video, folding and unfolding the Electrolux Intensity may take some practice.

Reviewers say the Electrolux Intensity upright vacuum stands out for its stylish, compact, low-to-the-ground design, as well as for its folding ability (which makes it good for people with small apartments). Experts agree that it has adequate power, but bemoan its lack of tools, short power cord (only 21 feet, compared to 30 feet on many other models), and difficulty maneuvering because of its large wheels.

We found the best review of the Electrolux Intensity at About.com, whose housekeeping guide Sarah Aguirre, takes this upright vacuum out for a spin. The Electrolux Intensity is also discussed in a brief article in Maclean's magazine and stars in a video segment at DotGizmo (which is also posted on YouTube). Disappointingly, Consumer Reports does not include the Electrolux Intensity in its recent roundup of vacuum cleaners.

In this 60-second clip (which is also posted on YouTube), the host struggles to fold and unfold an Electrolux Intensity. She doesn't say much about its performance, but you can get a good idea of this vacuum's innovative design and low-to-the-ground build.
