Both professional and user reviewers have good things to say about the Eureka Boss SmartVac 4870MZ. They say it cleans as well as or better than more expensive models, and it does a very good job of picking up pet hair on carpeting. It also controls emissions well. However, at 20 pounds, this vacuum can be cumbersome to push and hard to carry up and down stairs, users say. Users also complain of the noise level and find some of its controls hard to use. The 16-pound Hoover Tempo Widepath U5140-900 (*Est. $80) is a better overall performer with a lower price tag, reviewers say.
