The Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Plus Bagless UH70120 is a relatively lightweight upright vacuum (16.5 pounds) that gets good reviews from professionals as well as users. Professional testers say it does a great job controlling dust with its washable main filter and exhaust HEPA filter, and it's also very good at picking up pet hair and dirt from carpet. On hard floors, it may not work as well because the brushroll can't be turned off, so dirt may simply scatter across the floor. Users love this vacuum's strong suction and its features, especially the 27-foot retracting cord. However, we did read some complaints about durability with this model, including belts that slip off repeatedly or break and clogs that cause the vacuum to lose suction power. The bagless Dyson DC28 Animal (*Est. $530) gets better reviews overall, but it is much more expensive. If you prefer a bagging model, consider the highly rated Hoover Tempo Widepath U5140-900 (*Est. $80) , which weighs about the same.
The Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Rewind Plus Bagless UH70120 has been reviewed by ConsumerReports.org, which tests vacuums for their performance on both hard floors and carpet, as well as emissions, noise and maneuverability. This vacuum is also included in tests of upright and canister vacuums in Good Housekeeping magazine. We found more than 500 reviews for the Hoover WindTunnel at Amazon.com, as well as another 85 or so at BestBuy.com.
