Bagless upright vacuum
- Solid performer
- Included tools work well
- Rotating brush roll
- Heavy
- Not truly self-propelled
- Poor edging capability
Owners and experts say the bagless Kenmore Progressive 36932 upright vacuum performs just as well or better than Dyson's bagless vacuums on carpets, bare floors and pet-hair-covered rugs. Although the Kenmore 36932 isn't truly self-propelled, its rotating brush roll helps move the vacuum across the floor. This Kenmore vacuum cleaner works well with tools, an important consideration if you plan to vacuum stairs, drapes and upholstery, but it is relatively heavy at 20 pounds. Users seem to like the Inteli-Clean lights, which change color to let you know when an area is clean, but say this vacuum doesn't edge well. The Dyson DC25 All Floors (*Est. $500) is lighter and more maneuverable but costs twice as much.
We found the best review of the bagless Kenmore Progressive 36932 upright vacuum at ConsumerReports.org, which tries out vacuums on carpet and bare floors before rating each in several performance categories. The Kenmore Progressive 36932 vacuum is also discussed at Sears.com by numerous users, and owners of similar Kenmore Progressive uprights post their experiences at Epinions.com and Viewpoints.com. There's a brief entry at the website for Seattle-based Mrs. Clean House Cleaning Specialists as well, based on the ConsumerReports.org results and an analysis of user reviews.
